Interpreting and AI?
AI can support interpreting, but it cannot entirely replace humans here. Artificial intelligence does not understand the social or situational context of a conversation and cannot deal with irony or sarcasm. It disregards nonverbal communication such as tone of voice, facial expressions, or gestures. It is not prepared for anything unexpected such as background noise, people talking over each other, or dialects. It lacks any cultural sensitivity. Since conversations involving artificial intelligence are processed via servers, data protection compliance and confidentiality cannot be guaranteed.

Discretion is a vital part of my professional ethics. I gain insights into internal negotiations during company discussions or political meetings—all content is handled with absolute confidentiality. For me, maintaining confidentiality is not only an ethical obligation, but often also a contractual requirement. A professional interpreter guarantees that what is said remains confidential – accurately translated, but never passed on. That’s also why you will not find any client references on my website.
Discretion starts before the assignment
Confidentiality begins long before the assignment and does not end with the closing remarks of the event. Even during the preparation for a conference, sensitive documents are handled with the utmost care. As an experienced interpreter, I understand the importance of discreet communication and thus create a trustful working environment—for organisers and all participants.
